COMMUNITY SERVICE

Every spring our brothers participate in Relay for Life an eight hour walk to raise money for the American Cancer Society.

This past March of 2017 a group of our brothers participated, including our Regent Bert who dressed up for the Miss. Relay paegent and two brothers Katherine and Sara who donated their hair to make wigs for ladies going through chemo. Our team raised $567 in total this year. 

Athens Beautification Day attracts nearly 1,000 volunteers from Ohio University and the surrounding Athens community.  Volunteers work on over 50 different service projects throughout the day that range from trash clean ups to landscaping to painting.

This year our brothers got to help refurbish Putt People First, a mini golf course that gives back to the community by having open days where anyone can come play for free in case they can't afford it normally.

Habitat for Humanity is our national philanthropy, it is dedicated to building simple and affordable housing for the less fortunate.

Every spring Theta Tau brothers from all different chapters come together. This spring five of our brothers went to Flagler Beach, Florida. They helped paint, raised a roof, helped hurricane proof, and put siding up on a house. In the end they got to meet one of the families they helped build for.

The Adopt-a-Highway program, is a promotional campaign to encourage volunteers to keep a section of a highway free from litter. This section of highway is your 'adopted' section of highway.

Our chapter has a small section of highway right outside of campus where we go and clean up litter four times a year, making us a Gold Star Group.
